Our School Day

Our School Day

It is the law of this country that your child should attend school EVERYDAY during term time.

The bell will ring at 8.45am.

Children will then come into school.

Reception through the first door in the reception outdoor area

Year 1 via the front Y1 outdoor area at the Gurnell Street entrance

Year 4 and 6 via the cloakroom entrance (sign posted)

The school doors on the playground will then be closed. Any child arriving after this time will need to come into school via the school office and will receive a late mark.

The school day starts at 8.45am and finishes at 3.00pm

These are at the discretion of the class teacher.

End of the School day

Please collect your child from the area close to their entrance/exit door at 3.00pm

Drop-off and collection

At the beginning and the end of the day, parents are encouraged into the playground where they will be met by Mrs Austin-Thomas and Miss Trafford. They are available to discuss any issues regarding school and home – we enjoy having good links with all parents. If normal arrangements have to be altered (eg you are delayed or another person is collecting your child) please let us know at the office. This avoids any confusion or upset.

Please leave your child at the school door, this will allow them to develop their independence and organisation skills.

Coming to school

To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option! We have a bike shed if your child would like to cycle however, we do ask that children walk across the playground with their bikes for the safety of everyone around. If you do need to travel by car, please park wisely and away from the school gates.
