At Scunthorpe Church of England Primary School, we are passionate about providing every child with a rich and inspiring education that extends beyond the classroom. Our aim is to provide a broad, well-rounded enrichment offer that enables every child to succeed, discover their talents and interests, and reach their full potential. We believe that high-quality enrichment plays a vital role in developing confidence, resilience, creativity, curiosity and ambition, whilst preparing children for their future lives and learning.
Through our curriculum and enrichment programme, children engage in a wide range of experiences that build their cultural capital and deepen their understanding of the world around them. These opportunities include participation in arts and culture, sport and physical activity, outdoor learning and adventure, community and civic engagement, and the development of wider life skills.
Our enrichment offer is carefully linked to our Christian vision, curriculum intent and school values. We work in partnership with families, local organisations, our church and the wider community to provide experiences that inspire awe, wonder and a sense of belonging. We are committed to ensuring that enrichment opportunities are accessible to all children, enabling every pupil to participate, achieve and thrive.
Each year group follows a bespoke Cultural Capital and Enrichment Journey, designed to broaden horizons, create memorable experiences and support holistic development. These journeys reflect our school values and encourage children to explore new interests, develop new skills and make positive contributions to their community. Each half term we hold an addititional enrichment afternoon where children have the opportunties to try new experiences, follow their interests or take part in a planned visit or workshop.
